Special commendation for Akweni at South African Professional Services Awards

Akweni is pleased to announce its special commendation at the 2016 South African Professional Services Awards in recognition of its growth over the past 10 years and its contribution to the project management profession. The commendation is cited as follows:

“Special commendation in the area of project management goes to Akweni Project Management who have grown in 10 years from a company of two individuals to a force within Southern and Western Africa. The contribution to the profession includes extensive participation in the SACPCMP.”

 The South African Professional Services Awards, sponsored by Sanlam, were held on the evening of 3 November 2016.

There were winners in different fields drawn from the built environment, commerce, law and management.

“These awards are important as they give visibility to disciplines that are desperately needed in this country. They also reward entities for performing well in important areas such as transformation, customer service, contribution to the community and commitment to ethical best practice,” said Phomolo Dube, Chief Executive of Sanlam’s Closed Book business who was also one of the judges.

KC Rottok, founder and project manager of the Awards, confirmed that there had been greater participation at this year’s event with a significant increase in individual entrants.

“Since hosting the competition the last time, a greater number of individuals were nominated for professional of the year. They were judged based on a host of attributes including demonstration of leadership skills, changing of paradigms and innovation within the bounds of available resources. We also conferred a number of Lifetime Achievement Awards to deserving recipients who had served their professions faithfully for many years,” said Rottok.

We are proud to announce the launch of the new Akweni company logo as part of our 10th year anniversary celebration and rebranding.

Our business has grown and evolved over the last 10 years, and we felt it was time for a change. A change that reflects who we are today, the services we now offer and what we aspire to be in the future. This was not a decision we made lightly. We are proud of our rich history, that is why our new logo retains the core elements of the old logo, which are our colours – red and blue and the letter “A”.

The new tagline “Passion.Precision.Vision” resonates with our commitment to deliver our clients’ vision with passion and unparalleled precision.

In the upcoming months, we will be updating all our collaterals, marketing literature, email signatures, documentation, stationery, etc. with the new logo. We are aware that changing a logo and rebranding is a process that involves many steps and takes some time, so we will finalise it gradually.
